Sense Project

a Head & Hands initiative
  • Get Involved!

The Sense Project is all about youth PEER EDUCATION - young people getting involved with other young people to provide useful information and support about sexual issues.

Teenagers who are in high school can help their friends and other students as peer educators. People between the ages of 17-25 can volunteer as Sense animators. Animators are volunteers who facilitate workshops in schools and provide training to youth who want to become peer educators.

We hold an awesome peer educator training in the winter, where youth from different schools and communities come together to learn about sex and to learn skills on how to help people around them and create kick-ass projects in their schools. Peer educators last year even made a sex-ed video and a radio show!

Sense animators are trained in September to be ready to go into high schools shortly after the school year starts. Training focuses on the three Sense sexual health workshops, FAQs that arise in the classroom and general faciliation skills.
