Sense Project Crafternoon!
In April, a few Sense animators met up to create funky and fabulous buttons in order to promote the Sense Project as well as safer sex practices. It was loads of fun and a great creative outlet. Thanks again to the Ste-Emilie Skillshare for lending us their button maker.
Peer-ed training 2009
This past March, the Sense Project held its second peer-ed training. Six students from various private and public schools in Montreal attended the weekend long training in order to become peer-educators in their own schools and communities. Armed with their newfound knowledge, they were able to organize their very own positive and empowering sex health related events, become references for their peers and start a GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) in their school. Sense = Success!
The Sense Project is wrapping up its second year in action and we couldn’t be more proud. In 2008-2009 alone we provided 72 sex ed workshops to almost 700 young people in Montreal! A big thank you to all of you who were implicated in someway or another in this amazing initiative. Without your contribution, the Sense Project could not have attained the level of success that it has.
2008 Animator Training Extravaganza
In September, the second Sense Project animator training took place. Volunteers were trained for a total of ___ hours. It was an amazing time and the new Sensies (as well as the returning ones) were eager to apply what they had learned to future workshops. Here are some pictures that were taken during the training that capture some of the awesome times that were had. For more pictures click here.
Ca Marche video
For 16 years the Farhat Foundation has been organizing this 7km walk in order to raise money and awareness for the fight against AIDS. This September, an energetic group of Head and Hands staff and volunteers gathered to boogie in the streets of Montreal to support this cause.
